272.25 sqft per marla is the official Punjab and Islamabad figure. Some older Lahore schemes still use 225.
Kanal
One kanal is 20 marla (5,445 sqft at the standard). Eight kanal make an acre.
Why it matters
Price per marla hides the difference. Price per square foot exposes it.
